DataEase for Windows
|
| There are country- and language-specific versions of DataEase; please
contact your local national distributor if you need a service for a country other than
the United States, Canada or the UK. Most users in Canada will need the US versions of
the Service Packs, NOT the UK versions!
Always back up your copy of DataEase and your data before applying a patch!
Please note that Sapphire has not released a cumulative service pack for
DataEase for Windows (DFW) that includes all of the updates in one service pack. If you
have a version of DFW that pre-dates version 5.14 and wish to patch it up to
that level, you must download all of the appropriate
service packs and apply them in sequence.
The currently shipping version of DFW is 5.5, released in the first quarter of
2000. This is a chargeable upgrade (no service pack); contact your local distributor for
pricing.

Additional CDFs |

| Name: |
513cdf.exe |
| Date: |
3-Jun-1997 |
| Size: |
650,684 bytes |
| This compressed self-extracting file contains

Therefore, if you are patching up to 5.13 from an earlier version (5.0-5.12), you should
download this file as well.
These CDFs will work with later versions of DFW (5.14, 5.5,
etc.) This archive file includes the CDFS2 library (from Colin Davies) and the DFWActs
library (from Softcrafters)which include a number of invaluable functions.
Neither library ships with DFW 5.14 or 5.5!
Copy the file to a temporary directory and extract with the
-d parameter, e.g., type:
513cdf -d
to create the appropriate subdirectories. Then copy the files over any
CDF libraries shipped with DFW. This download also includes a few sample databases that
use the CDFs.
One of the libraries in the collection (called CDFS2 ) has been
updated by its author (Colin Davies)
and the updated version is available, free of charge from his site. |

US DFW Service Pack 8 (from 5.13 to 5.14) |
Please read carefully
before downloading this service pack!
For some unknown reason, Sapphire released TWO different service packs to
upgrade DFW 5.13 to 5.14.
The first (I call it the A version service pack) will upgrade a
virgin or original-from-the-box 5.13; it would not work properly
if applied to a copy of DFW that was patched-up-to version 5.13 (and you
would receive a series of error messages).
The second, or B version service pack, will operate only a
patched-up-to version 5.13 (e.g., if you started with an earlier version than
5.13 and have applied all of the prior patches).
Please select the right one for your situation! |
